Understanding Your Mix Mentor Score

What the score measures, how it is weighted, and why a lower score is not always a worse mix.

What goes into the score

  • Tonal balance against the detected genre target (weighted heaviest).
  • Loudness and true-peak headroom relative to the streaming target.
  • Dynamic range and crest factor — over-compression costs points.
  • Stereo balance, correlation and mono compatibility.

How to read it

  • 85+ means release-ready for streaming platforms.
  • 70–84 means solid with a couple of targeted corrections outstanding.
  • Below 70 usually points at one dominant issue — fix the top Action Plan card first and re-analyse.

When to ignore it

  • Genre-intentional choices (lo-fi, heavily saturated, deliberately narrow) will score lower by design.
  • Trust your ears. The score is a reference, not a verdict.
